Maintenance of Sodium Hypochlorite Generator

The Sodium Hypochlorite Generator should be managed by a dedicated person who is familiar with the performance and usage methods of each component. The brine preparation should be accurate to protect the electrodes. Keep the salt water tank clean, the salt should be clean and free of impurities. If using coarse salt, an additional filtering device must be added. Sodium hypochlorite solution is not easily stored for a long time. It should be produced on the same day in summer and used up on the same day. It should not be stored for more than a week in winter and should be stored in a dark place. (If the temperature is below 25 ℃, the daily loss of effective chlorine is 0.1-0.15mg/l, and if the temperature exceeds 30 ℃, thedaily loss of effective chlorine is 0.3-0.7mg/l)

Maintenance of Sodium Hypochlorite Generator

(1) Cleaning the electrode plate: The hardness of the raw water will affect the scaling of the electrode plate. When the electrode plate scales, the voltage of the tank increases and the current significantly decreases, which will affect production and increase power consumption. According to the hardness of the raw water, the electrode plate should be cleaned regularly. When the total hardness of the water is below 350mg/l (CaCO3), it should be cleaned every 18-20 days. Reduce the cleaning cycle when the hardness is high. The cleaning method is as follows: remove the top plate of the electrolytic cell, remove the scaling electrode plate (negative plate), soak it in dilute hydrochloric acid (1 part industrial hydrochloric acid and 4 parts water), wait for the scaling on the electrode plate to dissolve (about a few minutes), take out the electrode plate and rinse it with water before use. Waste acid for next use (use a soft bristled brush to clean the electrode plate). Rinse the anode plate with clean water. When installing the electrode plate, pay attention to the installation position of the positive and negative plates. Connect the positive plates in series and the negative plates in series, and do not connect them incorrectly. (Anode plate surface coated!) Strictly prevent friction and impact to avoid damaging the surface coating of the electrode plate. Maintain parallel spacing between the plates during installation.

(2) When passivation is found on the electrode plate: the surface coating is damaged, the slot voltage increases, and the current significantly decreases, a new electrode plate should be replaced.

(3) Regularly wipe the wiring ears and screws of the anode and cathode, and replace them if necessary to prevent excessive rust and affect equipment operation.

(4) The operating current and voltage should not exceed the specified current of the generator. External voltage and other factors have an impact on the operating current, and attention should be paid to adjusting and using it within a safe range.
